PERSONAL INFORMATION

The undersigned person hereby enrols as a part time student for a program or course at Richard Robinson Fashion Design Academy. It is understood that the tuition fees are payable upon signing this enrolment contract. I certify that I have read and understand this enrolment contract.

Richard Robinson Fashion Design Academy agrees to supply the course to the student in this contract unless the minimum number of students has not been reached. In this instance, the student may transfer to another course or transfer the fees to another session.

  • A student that cancels a course 30 days before the beginning date of the course will be charged a $50
    penalty fee and the balance of tuition will be refunded.

  • A student that cancels less than 30 days before the beginning of a course, a penalty of 50% of tuition
    fees will be charged and the remaining of tuition fees will be refunded.

  • Once classes have started, there is no refund.

  • If you have opted for a payment plan, please note that refunds are not available at any stage. However, you have the option to submit a request for a credit, which can be applied towards a future date.

This is a 30 hour course given over 10 weeks on Thursday nights at 419 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario

COST : $625+HST

Prerequisite: Pattern Drafting (Any level)

In this fundamental session, students learn the behaviour of muslin fabric, applying it to the human form. Trueing the fabric, establishing proper techniques in finding Centre Front (CF) and CB, listing all pertinent information and transferring onto paper.

  1. Drape the front and back of a skirt with waistband, and ease. Translate draped pieces onto paper, seam allowances, darts, and pertinent information

  2. Drape a-line skirt with yoke

  3. Drape multi-gore skirt

  4. Design and drape a denim skirt

  5. Basic sleeveless bodice with darts and crew neckline

  6. Drape Peter Pan collar

  7. Drape collar with stand

  8. Design and drape a sleeveless top with CB button-facing

  9. Design and drape a sleeveless dress with a button-facing

-Notebook, 5 m muslin fabric, Mechanical pencil, Measuring tape, 5 m of draping cord, 2-4 mm wide sturdy yet flexible cord, L-Square ruler, 50 cm long transparent ruler in cm measurements, long pins, Sharp fabric scissors, Craft paper, Paper scissors,
Clear plastic large envelope
Binder with clear plastic page sleeves - minimum of ten
